War Wheels


War Wheels is a joint event held by North Staffs Military Vehicle Group and Foxfield Steam Railway annually at Caverswall Station, Foxfield Steam Railway, Staffordshire on the 3rd weekend of May.

This years event once again features a gathering a various military vehicles, a flypast from the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight  (TBC), re-enactors, live music, steam train rides, vintage stalls and food / drink. We will also be joined by the 69th Field Regiment Display with live firing demonstrations of both the 6Pdr and 25Pdr anti tank guns.

The event starts with a live performance from 3 Day Week on the evening of Friday 15th May at 9PM.

Saturday & Sunday will be filled with vintage vehicles, live firing demonstrations and period music from the Mel Baines Trio before we're joined by local Rockabilly band Ignition (Saturday Evening only) to finish the night in style.

BBMF Flypast (TBC)!

We're hopeful that this year's event will, once again, feature participation from the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Featured Exhibitors

This years War Wheels event features a gathering a military vehicles, re-enactors, period entertainment and live music. You can learn more about some of our featured exhibitors below:

Re-Enactment Group
After a preview of the 6PDR Anti Tank Gun at last years event, this years show will feature a multiple firing demonstrations of both the 6 & 25 PDR guns throughout the weekend.
Mel Baines Trio
Period Entertainment
Featuring Mel Baines on vocals, John Dougherty on Saxophone/Banjo/Ukelele and John Woodward on Piano/vocals, the trio perform a mix of jazz, rock/pop, country and folk tracks.
Manchester Regiment 1914-18
Re-Enactment Group
Portraying the 8th battalion of the Manchester regiment, The Manchester Regiment 1914-1918, is a living history group which has displayed at events for over the last 30 years.
Jeep Johnson
Live Entertainment
We look forward to welcoming Jeep Johnson to Foxfield War Wheels for the first time. Jeep will be performing around the site throughout the weekend with his unique 40s style.
